About the location

Red Robin cottage is situated in the sought-after area of Fisherbeck Park in Ambleside, equidistant to Ambleside Town Centre and the lakeshore at Waterhead.

Smaller than Windermere, Ambleside is still a popular town for holiday-makers due to the great choice of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and the variety of walks heading off in all directions.

Nearby is Windermere (3 miles), where you will find more shops, restaurants, and the Windermere Train Station, which links to the West Coast train mainline. Hawkshead (5 miles) is on the opposite side of the Lake, and you can get there via the car ferry from Windermere, or it's a lovely drive around the north end of the Lake.

Ullswater (10 miles) is over Kirkstone Pass - Well worth visiting England's second-largest lake. On the way, stop at Kirkstone Pass Inn. At 1500m above sea level, you'll be in awe of the fantastic views!

The South Lakes will never disappoint - there is so much to do for everyone that you won't want to leave!
