The Dovery at Ingmire Hall
The Dovery is a lovely three-bedroom holiday home, comfortably accommodating up to six guests, situated within the grounds of Ingmire Hall on the outskirts of the charming village of Sedbergh, which is steeped in history.
Formally a private residence built around the remains of a pele tower, Ingmire Hall dates back to the 16th century and was enlarged in the early 19th century to form a sprawling private mansion with the extensive gardens we see today. However, in recent years, the mansion was subdivided into privately owned houses and apartments, many of which sit within the original stone walls. As such, the property is of some age and filled with lots of character, including the stone flooring, however the house is centrally heated throughout keeping it warm.
The house spans three floors, with the ground floor occupied by the spacious living room with comfy sofas and armchairs, an electric fire and a Freesat Smart TV. The well-equipped kitchen and dining area is a great space to enjoy a home-cooked meal with friends or family. Of course, if you don't fancy eating in, there is a great choice of pubs and eateries in Sedbergh Village, just two miles away.
Upstairs to the first floor, you'll find the first two bedrooms, a lovely double bedroom with en-suite facilities, a second large double bedroom which can be made as two singles on request, and the house bathroom with a separate bath and shower cubicle.
Upstairs again to the second floor, you'll find the third bedroom, a twin bedroom, and the second house bathroom.
Outside is a small garden space, private to The Dovery, with an outdoor table and chairs for six people.
Please note that while the garden area immediately in front of The Dovery is available for guests' use, the rest of the grounds, including the fountain at Ingmire Hall, are privately owned by other residents and are not open for guests' use. Please be mindful of any signage.
