Woodfield Lodge is a gorgeous two-bedroom self-catering holiday home situated in the quaint village of Brookhouse, just 1 mile from Caton and 6 miles from Lancaster City Centre, with a hot tub, wood fire and parking.

The village of Brookhouse is within an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and a haven for wildlife, with owls in the trees, lots of squirrels, and deer and otters also visiting from time to time! It is also well located for visitors to visit the coast at Morecambe, the Trough of Bowland, the Lake District, and the Yorkshire Dales National Parks. Within a mile radius, you have three pubs (all serving food), two local convenience stores, and a popular takeaway.

Exploring the local area couldn't be easier with several local walking trails and a cycle path nearby. The Crook 'O Lune is a popular visitor area, with swimming locations in the River Lune during the warmer months).

Benefiting from a full refurbishment in November '23, the owners created a beautiful holiday home with family or friends in mind. It comprises a fabulous living room with comfy furniture, a wood-burning fire, and a large flatscreen Smart TV. Two beautifully decorated bedrooms, one of which can be made as either a double or two single beds on request, a well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances and two bathrooms.

Outside is equally as special; with a large patio area, hot tub, and outdoor furniture, guests can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, perhaps alfresco dining! Luxury bathrobes are provided for guests, too.

Overall, Woodfield Lodge is a great choice of holiday accommodation to use as a base from which to explore many of the popular local attractions or perhaps simply relax at the Lodge for some peace and tranquillity.

Take a closer look at Woodfield Lodge

  • Entrance Hallway: Accessed from the rear garden and parking area.
  • Kitchen: Well-appointed kitchen with granite worktops, a dishwasher, hob and double ovens, a microwave, kettle & toaster, sink and plenty of pots, pans and crockery. Guests have use of the fold-away dining table with four chairs.
  • Lounge: Large 3-seater sofa and armchair with a nest of tables. This room also benefits from a 43-inch Samsung Ultra HD 4K Smart TV with Amazon and Netflix preloaded (own accounts required). The living space also benefits from a fireplace with a log burner. The views from this room pan across open fields and the Lune Valley. The cupboard in this room also houses an iron and ironing board.
  • Bedroom 1: Zip & link bed, which can be made up as a super-kingsize double or two single beds (please be sure to let us know how you would like the bed to be made for your stay), bedside tables with lamps, chest of drawers. Decorative fireplace.
    • En-suite: The gorgeous and spacious en-suite bathroom comprises a freestanding roll-top bath, a large walk-in shower enclosure, two sinks, a toilet, underfloor heating and a heated towel rail. Decorative fireplace.
  • Bedroom 2: This bedroom has a Victorian-style double metal bed with bedside tables and lamps and a dressing table with a hairdryer.
  • Shower Room: Adjacent to bedroom 2, with a shower enclosure, hand basin, toilet, underfloor heating and heated towel rail.
  • Outside: 2 lovely paved areas with access to:
    • Utility room: Housing the oil-fired boiler and a Hotpoint 9kg washer/dryer along with a drying rack. This is also a useful space for hanging wet waling gear or perhaps bicycles.
    • Patio: Housing the large hot tub and outdoor garden furniture. This space is for the sole use of the guests and offers privacy for relaxation and alfresco dining.
    • Parking: Off-street gravel parking for up to two cars
  • One dog is permitted. Additional dogs may be accommodated by prior arrangement, subject to their size and breed. Please contact us before booking.
  • The garden is partially enclosed but is not escape-proof.  Please do not leave any young children to roam unattended or let dogs off the lead.  
  • There are a lot of squirrels around Woodfield Lodge. Please don't try to feed them; they have very sharp teeth!
  • Woodfield Lodge is on a septic tank system.  Only toilet paper can be flushed down the toilet (i.e. no sanitary towels, tampons, condoms, wipes, paper towels, nappies, etc). 
  • Please shower before entering the hot tub; no fake tan must be applied prior to using the hot tub. There are plastic glasses provided for your use, as no glass must be used in or around the hot tub).
  • The fireplaces in the bedroom and bathroom are decorative only. Please don’t attempt to light them.
  • All bed linen and bath towels are provided, but please bring towels for the outdoor hot tub use, along with locally sourced, beautiful quality hand wash, body wash and bath salts.
  • The property also benefits from B4RN super-fast fibre broadband and is ideal for anyone who needs to work remotely.
  • Charging of electric vehicles is not permitted under any circumstances.
  • Hen, stag and noisy events are not permitted.
